As is typical, Republicans in Congress sent more official e-newsletters than Democrats, 835 messages compared to 654. This difference is larger than their current seat advantage: Republicans hold 219 seats in the House compared to 212 for Democrats, and in the Senate, Democrats hold 53 seats to the Republicans' 47.
